For the experiment, the researchers subjected mice to UV radiation. Then they applied CoQ10 formulations to their skin. They performed biochemical estimations and histopathological studies to find out if their treatments worked. Sure enough, superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione, and total protein levels were restored to 81.3%, 72.1%, 74.8%, and 77.1%, respectively, compared to the control group. It seems that using CoQ10 topically can indeed help the skin fight off damage.
