A fruit that helps with skin allergies?

What if you could help heal a skin rash ... by eating fruit?

And what if this fruit worked just as well as topical steroid creams?

Well, researchers have recently discovered a fruit that can do just that: reducing swelling, itching, and redness from skin allergies.

Here’s the story...

The researchers put a group of mice on a diet that included a specific type of berry. Then they put another group of mice on the same diet, minus the berries.

After three weeks, the researchers exposed each mouse's ears to irritants that caused an allergic reaction. Then, they measured the swelling and how long it took to clear up.

Amazingly, the mice who ate the berries recovered significantly faster than the mice that didn’t eat berries!

The researchers found that the berries worked by calming the immune response in the mice.

Treating the response, not the skin

See, your immune system treats an allergen as a threat. But it can overreact to that threat, flooding your skin with cells that cause inflammation and itchiness.

So to clear up the inflammation, you have to control your immune system’s response. And that’s exactly what these berries appear to do.

In fact, they can even reduce inflammation from certain cancers, preventing or slowing down the disease.

So what are these berries?

Black raspberries, a special variety of the more common red raspberry. They’re also known as blackcaps, wild black raspberries, or thimbleberries.

Black raspberries are often confused with blackberries, because they look very similar. But black raspberries have a hollow core and a sweeter flavor than blackberries.

And not only are they sweet, they’re also an excellent source of fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants. So they're great for your digestive system, blood vessels, and more.

It’s pretty easy to find black raspberries, too. They’re available fresh or frozen, however, they have such a short growing season that you might have more luck finding them frozen. You can even have the frozen berries shipped to you from companies like Mercato or Northwest Wild Foods.

To add them to your diet, just add a handful to salads, smoothies, and sauces ... or have them by themselves as a snack. They’re a delicious way to calm skin allergies and boost your overall health!
